1. Games: Go on a treasure hunt: Make "treasure maps" out of construction paper or cardboard and take your guests on a hunt around the yard or house. Leave small "treasures" at each spot for the kids "booty" bags including chocolate gold coins or kid-friendly jewels.

2. Costumes: Ask guests to come in costume...an eyepatch, bandana, pirate hat or hook all make for a fun party adventure. If you are looking to utilize time at the party, have guests make their own costumes. Make hats using construction paper and jewel stickers from a craft store. Buy cheap red fabric to make a classic pirate sash or bandana and construct swords using cardboard, markers and aluminum foil. A great way to recycle common household items too!

3. Thank You Notes: Be sure to have your camera ready! Take lots of photos--individual and a group shot. Use these to make an adorable pre-printed photo thank you card for your guests.
